Max Goldman and John Gustafson--our Quarterhorses--may be old, but they can hold their own.  They've taken us into town to the DQ for a treat, through town in a summer parade, and around and around our farm with all our new friends.  We acquired three Belgians last fall, and as soon as they take over, Max and John can retire to just graze in the pasture and take it easy.

Our Belgians consist of Holly, an 11-year-old mare; Jasmine, a 5-year-old mare who had been abused by someone who obviously didn't care about animals; and Lila, who is now 17 months old and a colt out of Holly.  Scott is working with all three of them, and they are all responding very well.  They are all being taught how to drive, and in 2008 we will begin riding
Holly and Lila.

At first, Jasmine (or Jazz, as we call her), was very afraid of people.  But with all the time that Scott has been spending with her, working with her, getting her to trust people again, taking care of her, she is blossoming!  A lot of love and compassion is all she needs and she is getting plenty of that.  She is an awesome horse and we are very proud to have her and the other two Belgians on our farm.
