This year has been a busy one so far, and a hard one.  We lost our Penelope (mini donkey) and her little baby Sam.  Sam was born early, got pneumonia, and died, and then his mom died of depression and a broken heart.  It was one of the saddest things I've seen.

We also lost our Buckwheat (llama), who was such a loverboy, always giving kisses at the fence. 

On the happy side, we were blessed with new baby goats, most of which survived due to the fact that we bred them late in the season.  And Nikia, our other mini donkey who is pregnant, is due any time now.  We're not rushing her!  And Flasher, our guardian llama, protects her as if he were the father of her baby.
